New Blog: An Update

It has been a long many months, but I am at last reaching the final stretch. Crystal Palace: The Coming Storm is in its last stages of editing. Once that is done in the next month, I will apply any needed polish and submit it for copyright and publication. I couldn't be more excited!

The website is coming along nicely as well. I have to say that I am very proud of it. The code is neither glamorous nor complex, but it does what I need it to, and I think it looks great. The artwork and navigation also worked out more than I could have hoped.

I appreciate those of you who are following along with me here at the beginning. This will be quite the adventure. Building this website and figuring everything out for publication and marketing has been quite a challenge, and it will continue to be. But at least I have a better of understanding of everything that goes into it. That will mean a lot more time writing, which is what you care most about.

That brings me to this blog. You'll notice that it's not actually done within my website but is in fact an external link to blogger. See, I wanted to have a simple blog, but designing and implementing one directly into my website required integrating software such as WordPress or developing my own. Either one would have muddied up the simple coding standard I wanted to maintain for this site to keep it smooth. So, I decided to use a Google Blogger account instead.

You see it in my website because I used an iframe. This means that you are viewing a window inside of my website that shows this blog at thirteencrossroadspublishing.blogspot.com. For the most part, you should be able to navigate it without leaving the website. But if you want to post a comment or log in to post comments, it may be quirky and force you to open the blog in an external window. A minor annoyance, I know, but humor me as this option was so convenient that I couldn't resist the minor hiccups that might accompany it. It still looks fairly good, though, and I hope you find its simplicity easy to work with.

This blog isn't for essays or short stories. It's for updates on what I'm working on and what I'm up to in general. When I do new posts for it, I'll be putting links for those new posts on my Twitter account (XIII Crossroads) and Facebook page (Thirteen Crossroads Publishing). So follow me there to keep up with my updates. And again, thank you for following along.
