Quick New Year's Update

As I suggested was possible with my last update, I need a couple extra days to finish a couple of things off. Because New Year's Day is kind of an awkward time to do a large release of things in general, I'm going to be moving things back until Monday, January 5th. Pretty much everything is ready and in place, but I just want to use those extra days to relax and finalize a few things.

So, with that said, Happy New Year's! (in a few hours for most of you and shortly ago for some of you). Take a look at my previous post to catch up on all that I will be releasing next Monday. Expect my next blog update on Sunday evening.

A Summary of the Next Three Years

It has been a long time in the waiting, but we are now just days away from the official launch of this website and my first book, Crystal Palace: The Coming Storm. I cannot adequately write just how excited I am for this. Developing this website in every aspect as well as all of the writing and detail that have gone into it have been exhausting to say the least. But January 1st is just around the corner.

For those of you unfamiliar with my site or my writings (which this early on will be most every one of you), I am Trevor A. A. Evans, the owner of Thirteen Crossroads Publishing and the creator of its website. For the last year, I have been preparing everything to launch my career as an author, and it has been a slow, tiring journey.

To be brief (since I have written many other things I would rather you read), I will on January 1st (assuming all goes well between now and then; I reserve the right to push back the date a few days if I need to) be releasing the below novels, novellas, and short stories:

  • Crystal Palace: The Coming Storm (novel; appx. 500 pages)
  • The Mines (novella; appx. 100 pages)
  • Crashing from Heaven (novella; appx. 100 pages)
  • The Dead Seas (short story; appx. 40 pages)
  • The Tradesman (short story; appx. 40 pages)
  • A Journey South (short story; appx. 40 pages)
  • The Outcast and the Survivor (chapter 1; appx. 30 pages)

The novel ($6) and novellas ($3) will be available for the Amazon Kindle and Barnes & Noble Nook. Softcover copies will also be available on Amazon.com for about twice the price of the electronic copies. The short stories, including the first chapter of the Outcast series, will be available on my website thirteencrossroads.com free of charge, though I will release them for Kindle and Nook as well further down the road for a small fee (likely $.99).

I would also like to use this entry to clarify the release schedule that I will be working with over the next three years (this information is also on my site). In addition to a large number of short stories (one each month), novellas (one every three months), chapters from the Outcast series (one chapter a month, 36 chapters total), and essays, I will be releasing two three-book series over the next three years (so six novels total). Below is the release schedule:

  • Destiny Book I - June 30th, 2015
  • Distant Souls Book I - December 31st, 2015
  • Destiny Book II - June 30th, 2016
  • Distant Souls Book II - December 31st, 2016
  • Destiny Book III - June 30th 2017
  • Distant Souls Book III - December 31st, 2017.

As you can tell, it will be a busy three years, especially considering all of the other stuff (mostly free) that I will be throwing in there as well. I am genuinely overjoyed to officially begin this three-year writing marathon. With the website in place (though I'll tinker, especially as new novels are released), I can again focus mostly on writing, something I have been greatly looking forward to. This journey should be fun, and I hope you join me for it.
